Tombow and Core'dinations!

How fun is that?!???!???!
I love me some Tombow. Mono adhesive is the BOMB Diggity. I use it all the time and today is no exception.  So I thought this project was appropriate because I got some of my Christmas decorations out and this frame was falling apart because the glue was old. Humph I obviously didn't use Tombow the first time! What to do?  What to do?  Well, have no fear Tombow is here to fix it for me!

I redid everything except the base of the frame that I painted a year ago with some crackle paint and some inks. I was originally a dollar store find at Michaels. I added some more glitter spritz and the green Jenni Bowlin Core Impression frame and the bow and other details. It was fun "redoing" this project...or is this what they call upcycling?  I never know what that means.  I also added a David Tutera Celebrate Tag. Unfortunately no picture yet because this will house our Christmas card this year. Note that there isn't one because we never did one last year! LOL!

Bow is May Arts Ribbon and the clear ornament is from Clear Scraps.

Here is one of the reasons I love me my Mono Multi Adhesive...it dries CLEAR! So I hung the hemp over the corner of the frame and then used the clothespin to keep in place while it dried ..it will only take a minute, don't worry! I know a lot of people don't have patience but this dries quickly.

And see this card?  This tree was inside this frame...since I was redoing it...I thought it needed a full scale redo so I salvaged this and made it into a card!  All I did was mount it on to Step 2 layers from David Tutera Celebrate and then a card base from Step 1.

And I was tricky here....I think :) Since this was already glued together, I just put some Mono Adhesive on this Webster's pin and stuck it through the green and red layer! Voila! It will stay in place now.

And then layered it to a few more of David's layers. This one is the A7 Lace Doily Assortment. Gorgeous! They come this way so no die cutting...just adhere it with a few dots of Mono like I did here.

So...hop to win, right??!???!? Now keep in mind today is the LAST day to hop on the blog as both companies will be picking winners tomorrow. AND did you see this on FB??? Like and comment to WIN here on Facebook for ANOTHER chance to win what you see below.

Hard Core Crop Handmade Elements Challenge

Welcome to Core'dinations Hard Core Crop!

Make sure you grab your blinkie and wear it proudly ALL WEEK LONG! Core'dinations is offering a prize the person using it as their Facebook profile photo so grab it here and head over to the Facebook event page and let them know.
PLUS we are chatting and sharing projects over there, too. IT'S FUN!

If you have joined us before the rules work pretty much the same. Whether this is your first time or you are a returning Hard Core Corpper PLEASE make sure you head over to the Core blog for a full list of rules HERE. They are pretty straight forward..you must use Core visibly on your projects, upload using the linky at the bottom of this post by midnight November 10th EST, and follow my challenge rules but please make sure you follow the rules and check them out on the Core blog. BUT the most important rule...is to CREATE AND HAVE FUN! :) If you would like to see a full list of the challenges head over the Core blog HERE for a list that will be updated continually throughout the weekend.

Now who wants to get crafty? My Challenge is all about using Handmade elements: Creating with Core'dinations is all about using techniques. For this challenge, I want you to create your own handmade elements on your project. Some examples are hand cutting embossed images, make your own flowers, draw your own designs and cut them out..sky is the limit! Punched or diecut images are okay but you must maniuplate them somehow to create something other than it's intended use like I did below... simply punching or diecutting an element is not enough.... BE CreAtiVe and have FUN

For my example, I used some David Tutera Celebrate Cardmaking system flowers on a smooth Kraft cardbase and cut them apart to create the Christmas tree. These were orginal starburst/flower images and now they are a Chrimstmas tree! Then I just freehanded the tree trunk our of some Chocolate Box and sanded it to release that inner red Core. And of course you gotta sand sand sand your Core! Finish off by adding a white sticker sentiment and other details on your cardbase.

You can do a card, layout, altered project...whatever you want!

Now..we are all about the Holidays here but feel free to make any theme card you wish as long as it follows the challenge rules. AND one lucky winner will get this awesome pack of Core'dinations Cardstock! Tim Holtz & Ranger Distress!

Use the InLinkz tool below to link up..blogs...galleries..Pinterest...Flickr...just make sure it is a DIRECT link.

Sketchiness

So now that I am back on the bloggin' and scrapping train, I have been getting caught up every morning in google reader and I found this fun sketch over at Chic Tags:

I loved those triangles and instantly knew that some distressed Core would be perfect there! I used the cut files from the Chic Tag store and I was planning on using the polaroids I cut but then I was like..."hmmmm I like the words for my title" so  I did that instead over the triangles.
All the papers are Imaginisce...with two dogs this line is just too cute!

David Tutera Celebrate Cardmaking system!

I don't know about you but these days since I am scrapping less, quick and easy is right up my alley!
So today I wanted to share with you some David Tutera Celebrate Cardmaking system projects I made in just a matter of minutes.

I looooooove having gift bags in my stash.  For these bags I used a Step 2 layer and then some tags. Add a quick Sentiment sticker and you are done!

And the mini tags are the BOMB! I love to stamp on these, too! I am kind of diggin the white on white, too.

If you "mustache"....

Hi Everyone!
Not sure if you noticed but I changed the name of my blog so you will need to "re"follow me now. I figured now was as good a time as any because I was slacking for blogging for so long but I am getting back on the horse now.

So if I am blogging that means I am FINALLY getting creative again! With henry starting Kindergarden (sniff sniff) this year I am finding more time to get my swerve on ;)

First up is this frame I made with TONs of Core...Tim Holtz Kraft Core, Black Magic, & JBS Core Amour (sand the white finish and the red stars come through). I love love this photo of Brian's Uncle and Owen sportin' the 'staches! We found this vending machine when we were our there visiting in AR over Easter that dispensed mustaches for a quarter! What?!!??!  Needless to say a few dollars later we all had them. The blonde ones, like owen's, were the best, LOL. Of course, Uncle Dave has his own ;)

I used my Silhouette, too! Wooot woooot! Who doesn't need a mustache cut file?

Hopping with Tombow!

Who's with me? Oh, well obviously you are  if you are here :)
I have a layout for you today that I created using loads of Tombow and Core and some scraps of my Simple Stories patterned paper.  I was playing with my Silhouette and didn't have my blade right when I cut this sentiment. Me, being the hoarder that I am, was like, "how can I save this?"

The sentiment on the Kraft Core didn't really stand outs so you couldn't even read it. I grabbed some of my ink and sponge and just started dabbing it into the grooves. And, voila! You can read it.

Here it is light...I kept adding more ink...then of course adding some Tombow Stamp runner to adhere it makes it even easier!

One of the reasons (one of the many many many many many reasons) I love Core is because everything core'dinates! See the pic on the right?  That is the Chocolate Box that I used to scor and create the hatch marks in the bottom right hand corner of the layout. The pic on the left is the back of it...see how it matches my layout base perfectly? All of the lines match easily...no fuss!

I used the 6x6 Chocolate Box and then some Core Essentials.

And last but not least the TOMBOW!  I love the raised power tabs...make sticking things that need a bit more adhesive (like wood embellies) perfect!

Okay so ready for the hop???

Imaginisce and Core

HI Everyone! If you are here today then you are hopping with Core  and Imaginisce!

I loooooove my i-Rock! I have had it for a few years now and use it a ton. My favorite is the tear drop/rain drops so that is what I used today.
For the first card, I cut out a sun. Just traced it using a lid and then sanded it. Then I turned my card around and made the "sun lines" with a pencil and then scored. I always scor from the back so the raised images are on the front so you can sand them. So it was easy. I used Vintage Cardstock for this card.

Remember to click on the images to make them larger :)

Then I thought...why not use the negative image from my Silhouette cut? That is what I did for this card and then just did some embossing and more i rock LOVE! I used Brights Collection pack for these fun, bright colors.

Here's the list for today:

Core Designers:

Get Well Soon Card with Websters and Core

Happy Thursday!
Super excited to have a long weekend. I got my craft on yesterday and came across a challenge over at Simon Says Stamps and thought I would give it a go.

We had a friend recently have surgery while battling cancer so thought this would cheer him up.  And going through some of my Websters stash was fun, too!  The card base is a smooth Kraft card from the David Tutera Celebrate cardmaking system in A7 and the burnt orange is Tim Holtz Core'dinations Cardstock

Tim Holtz Kraft-Core Shattered

Playing with Core'dinations is always fun! The Tim Holtz Kraft Core Shattered cardstock is SO COOL! It's got a crackle finish on it so you don't  even need patterned paper!

I looks super cool embossed, too! Of course I used some Sizzix embossing folders from Tim as well.

And some scoring always goes a long way. And don't forget how cool it looks torn...that kraft core looks so cool!

Washi Wednesday!

I kinda like the sound of that!

AND I got crafty with my washi tape. I used my birthday money and got a typewriter. I gotta tell  you. I am a lazy scrapper. Getting out of my room, going to printer, lining up journaling, the printing, cutting..etc...BLEH!

So I decided to invest in a typewriter that I just pull out, plug in and type my journaling right then and there and I loooove it. I find myself journaling MORE! So that is what I focused on with this layout.

So first, I played with the washi design on a piece of white cardstock making sure it was lined up where my photo was going to be and then just typed away.
All cardstock is Core'dinations Cardstock, Washi is a mix of some I found on ebay, Queen & Co. and My Mind's Eye. Letters are Heidi Swapp. I cut the tag from my Silhouette with some Kraft Core and used a Cocao Daisy stamp on it...love this wine stamp I got from there...I use it a lot :)

Twine is from May Arts...
