One more Day in 2008!

I just had to post about it. Have you noticed the changes going on 'round here? what better way to ring in the new year, than with change. i still have to do all my links along the side yet {sigh} no one took me up on my million dollar offer to do it for me so looks like i have to get that done this weekend.

so starting next year, whenever i post on here, i will mentions something i am thankful for. anyone want to join me?!??!?!

right now i am thankful for bed and niquyl ;)

we are uploading early @ Serendipity Scrapbooks. I got to use some review item goodies {sign up for the newsletter here to see my reviews on them} including Dream Street Papers and those FUN, FUN--did i say FUN?-- Basic Grey Obscure chippies.

this is a layout of my sister shooting apples at the farm this year when she came to visit. sorry the photos are a bit scraptastic but i was peeing when i took these b/c i was laughing so hard.

this next one is of max. i am max. hear me roar.

here is the journaling: max is our gentle giant. he is a big baby and barks at everything; card doors, door bells and just your run-of-the-mill loud noises. he loves to snuggle on the coush {shhhhh!} and put his head on your feet to keep them warm. he is a great simmer and he is one of the smartest dogs i have met. he knows how to play with small dogs, it's like he knows he needs to be gentle with them. now, if we can just get him to vacuum...

and a card...thought this was a cute way to say congrats! i cut my mini alphas to fit the ribbon.

One last Ornament!

I have one last thing to post for christmas, lol...except the 1000 photos i took, lol!

Here is an ornament i made from one of those cones that holds industrial size thread. my grandmother was a seamstress and i got these from her. so it means a lot to me. when i go and see her, she is so confused, i cry in the elevator when i leave. so the last time i saw her, i promised myself i would make something with them.

i used glimmer mist, a pink paislee rubon and transparency. i used my scallop punch and some stitching, too.

Stamp Sale and Wrestling

LOL, stamps and wrestling...the day in the life of a scrapper :) AND i wanted to say thank you so much for all the comments on my post for the entry for CMK. i love love! ;)

first, owen had his first wrestling tournament this weekend. after only having 4 practices he did really well. phew. i was nervous, we all were! most of the parents were as nervous as me b/c their kids were young and inexperienced, too. but kids are so darn resilient. his last match was rough. that kid wrestled before and owen did everything he could not to get pinned. and there is me, lying on the mat with my camera and i didn't get one picture! i was too busy yelling, "roll over" and "use your legs". LMBO! i heard other people saying that earlier so i thought it might help. I mean, i am an athlete, won some state titles in my day but i am clueless about wrestling.

Here he is with brian after he was finished and the next one is owen and his best buddy {that is what he calls him, so cute} and the primary reason he is wrestling. his dad is the coach so, of course, owen wanted to wrestle.

NEXT. Unity Stamp Co. is having a sale! yup, yup, yup! a sale. 50% off, dollar stamps..what more could a girl ask for? check it out here and read more about it at Patter's blog here.

HSS upload day

Man, Sharon is so generous!

AND she is doing a 12 days of christmas shopping sale right now and if you have a Cricut or Cuttlebug you better get your bum over there now and check out the discounts!

Here is a tin I did with a Pageframe butterfly. I heated the middle of it with my heat gun until it was bendable and then let it cool.

Next is a layout I did with some Collage Press papers..I don't use them alot...well that is going to change! I really like them.

And lastly, i went crazy with the grunge. I mean, i had to when i got a hold of these spills and splatter stamps from Tim Hotlz. yes, that is me up close and personal without any goo on my face :) And of course, Coredinations Cardstock. I love it. I am using it almost every layout these days.

hmmmm...friday bloggin'

this is the kinda mood i am in today!

LMBO! one of my fave things about the holidays is ELF! and speaking of holiday movies...owen has been telling me that santa has a brother, so i am like, "yeah, his name is fred" and he keeps saying no no no...

so i have no idea what he is talking about, then we go into walmart and there is a big poster of the movie and he points to vince vaughn and says, "see! that's his brother." so i just shake my head...why does he never believe me?! when we he learn that mom does know best??? ;) all this coming from a kid that swears mrs. claus lives at his school!?

so anywho, owen and my mom did a little project for thanksgiving, they wrote down the things he was thankful for and they were going to day them at dinner on thanksgiving but owen chickened out so my mom gave me the list.

it is so cute! here are some of the things he said {4 pages of them! heehee}
*changing henry's diaper
*grandma & grandpa
*aunt amber & uncle greg
*that he can help daddy at work
*cooking
*setting the table
*buying things at the store
*playing with his toys @granny and pappy's house
*god & baby jesus
*when i am good at school
*helping daddy find his car keys
*mommy letting me have a snack
*planting gardens
*thankful he can hear his uncle billy play in his band
*hayden {his best buddy at school}

OKAY! i am crying, LMBO!

They have precut cards for your invitations and every kind of cardstock you can imagine! i am definitely going to do the gatefold cards and petal cards! OH and some glimmery paper for sure! thank you so much Norma!

I started a holiday journal. I am sooo excited! I wanted to do this last year but found every excuse not to. So i am totally into this year.

Wow, the past week FLEW by and I have been slacking. Work has been crazy, I have been doing a lot of research, i had a special session on thursday night so i wanted to be prepared, so i dove into my books last week. BUT this weekend, i got some scrappy stuff done and that always makes me feel, well, relaxed!

Here is a card i made for the Glitter and Shimmer contest over at Cut Cardstock! I am so glad i found this place, i am loving their stuff and it is my first time seeing it so i am def. gonna order some and tell my favorite online scrappy stores to take a look :) how about that metallic carstock! woot woot!

I used Glimmer Mist {silver, my FAVE!} and two kinds of Art Institute Glitter. I just used my Tuskineko ink pad {another go to fave of mine} and rolled the edges of the circles in it and then dipped them into the two different kinds of glitter. i get my art institute glitter at Serendipity. and of course, you know how i love my circle punch, LOL!

And, hello!, every 21st century snowman should have a crown instead of a hat, right?! So, wish me luck. it has been awhile since i put my hat into the ring for something!

WE WENT LIVE!

yeah!

So the hints and sneaks are over. The cat is out of the bag, so to speak.
I had this idea this summer and it kept coming back to me over and over again.

all i do is scrap memories. and there is nothing wrong with that. but i want more out of it. i want to scrap my goals & dreams, i want to scrap what i want to do next week and i just never took the plunge on my own.

so i started writing down prompts and gathered some online friends and here we are.
forward progress.

so every 15th of the month, we will have a prompt that has something to do with the future. the bucket list was first and fun! the next one, you is so cool too! a treasure so to speak...and then we keep going and they might be intense or they might be fun but they are just prompts to get you thinking about what is to come and not focus on the past so much.

here is my bucket list!

so please check it out and have fun with it. it is going to be great and, with what i have done already, therapeutic!

p.s. i fixed the link...DUH! that is what i get for not copying and pasting.

Here is a fun card i made with some fabulous Collage Press Papers from CMK and a cool stamp from Teresa Collins I got at HSS. I love that you can just wipe off the sentiment and you have this great shape to cut out and use to journal on or whatever!

OH... & guess what!

Remember that "thing" i posted about a few weeks ago? WELL here is a sneak and we go LIVE on Saturday, the 15th! so DON'T forget! It is going to be great and let me tell you, it is a different way of thinking when it comes to scrapping. Not in how you design but more about what you are scrapping about. Think of it is scrap therapy with a twist. what?

intrigued, lol? click here!
