Fabulous Friday!

YIPEE!

We are leaving this weekend for my best friend's house in Philly for the Fourth Annual Rib Off! The contestants are firing up their grills and getting their best recipes ready and I have been working my butt off on the elliptical to indulge all day Saturday! (after a trip to the gym , of course ;) It was a rough week at work for me, had a bit of a breakdown, LOL but sometimes you just need to get it out of your system and that was me. I will be glad for a break.

I got my copies of ST October and wanted to share a layout I had in there, I never shared this one online before. It has one of my FAVE lines ever....Salem from SR :(

I used a Jenna Desai mask from The Lily Pad on the black and white photo.

it's RAK time!

First off I wanted to mention some a fun blog hop going on over at the Nook. I have never been there before but have heard some good things about it so I ventured over and joined. The hop starts here so check it out!

AND make sure you check out Websters sneaks!!! click here to check out how to win, too! Oh and head over to InspireME for a chat tonight at 9 pm EST.

I hope everyone had a great weekend! Make sure you check out the DT call over at Serendipity Scrapbooks and the crop that is coming up, too!

BUT FIRST I HAVE TO TELL YOU HOW EXCITED I AM FOR THE NEW YEAR. You know why? Because it will soon be MARCH {actually they come out a bit earlier than that} . If you can guess what I am excited about based on this mini album, post it here and I will enter you in for a RAK from ME! I have some nice goodies sitting here for a lucky winner ....rubons ...stamps ...ribbon...maybe some chippies....I am feeling super generous today! I had to leave out the photo where I journaled about what these are and the close up so I couldn't give it away completely ;)

This awesome kit came from A Kiss on the Chic last year and I finally got around to making this album last week. I loaded it with kit goodness from Chatterbox and Creative Imaginations and myStampBOX stamps and Core'dinations Cardstock. I used some of the new BG Sugar Rush rubons, too. I loved that this chipboard could go through my Cuttlebug. AND of course I used my Tombow adhesive. I Love it, especially the multi liquid glue. It is perfect for chipboard and acrylic like I used in this book.

xoxo Girls Challenge

A good friend from a site is a designer for the XOXO Girls and when I went over to the blog, I just had to give it a go! I am so glad I did, I love how my layout turned out.

I had to scraplift this layout by Jona...look at that face! I was instantly drawn to that circle, too.

and this is mine:
check out my flower cluster! WOOT WOOT! this is my first one ...i know, i know...weirdo...

I ran my letters through my Cuttlebug using the Moraccan folder [love that folder]. lots of Webster's goodies on here, too. And a myStampBOX stamp in the bottom left hand corner. i LOVE that date stamp and use it 24/7.

Goals in 2010

Before I share some more things I have been working on, I wanted to admit that I have made a promise to run a marathon on May 2nd in Philly! Oh man, I am so nervous and excited at the same time. It was one of my goals last year but never got around to it so my friend Stacy {seen below} just sent an email out that she is doing it and I immediately jumped on the chance to finish the ONE goal I didn't meet last year. Ha! So now I am pumped.

Last year I did a layout called 5 for 5 and made 5 goals for myself that I wanted to do in 5 months and I did all of them except the marathon. this year I am doing the same thing...having goals and writing them down keeps you accountable for them and it WORKS. I got the garden in order, got better with my paperwork at work {that is a big deal, lol}, got a teaching job at a local community college, worked on my anger management skills and now I am running my marathon. So..now i just need to do it again for the next 5 months!

AND there is a give-a-way going on over at Paislee Press. What an awesome site! Love those labels for sure.

Here are a few layouts from the IDA kit from Serendipity Scrapbooks. So far, I made 4 cards, a wall hanging and two layouts and I even have two layouts I didn't even post yet. I just goes to show ya how much you can get out of these kits.

Supplies here are October Afternoon Report Card, Bella Boulevard Honey I'm Home, Core'dinations, MLS transparencies and more...

This is my bestest friend, Stacy. Even though we live a few hours apart, we talk often and see each other a lot which I am so grateful for. We have such a great group of friends from college, I am so lucky.

This little Making Memories frame didn't have the sentiment that matched this layout so I used the Bella Boulevard Label Addition sticker on it and it fit perfectly! I also used some alcohol inks on the MLS transparency.

Some embossing using my mini Scorpal from Core'dinations.

CROP alert! {and some cards ;}

Make sure you head over to Serendipity for an awesome crop! They have the BEST crops, with the chance to win a KIT of your choice {not current kit, sorry}. I love the new style we do over there where you can get chances by completing challenges versus the person who does the most wins. I like when more people get a crack at it ;) PLUS, there is a thread going on just for CHA releases and THIS one has caught my eye ;) GLIMMER GLAZE! Head over to the blog for a give-a-way, too!

Speaking of kits....

here are some cards i made from the current IDA kit that is loaded with Bella Boulevard Honey I'm Home and October Afternoon report card goodies. I used a PageMaps sketch from Scrap-frendzy posted here, as well.

Then i loaded them up with some of my favorite myStampBOX stamps {the alphas} they are so fun and EASY to cut out. Sometimes alphas can be a pain to cut out after you stamp them.

This is the color palette I chose based on a challenge we are doing over at Core'dinations Cardstock.

{i flipped this one}

TONS of stuff going on!

Serendipity Scrapbooks is having a MAJOR month this month. I mean, who said January was sluggish?

1.) There is a DT call so make sure you check it out here. BEST team to work on EVER!
2.) We are having a Fashionista Crop starting the 22nd. Details are here.
3.) AND last but not least in any way...the Wishes Come True contest!!! Do you want to earn ways to win items in your wish list? 20-30-40 dollars worth of goodies on your wishlist??? I thought so ;)

So please please come join us over there...it is so much fun! Serendipity was the 2nd mb I ever joined 3 years ago. Some of the past designers have gone on to some amazing accomplishments, including spots on some of the biggest manufacturers out there so you won't be at a loss for inspiration, that's for sure.

Here is a wall hanging I made with the January I Deserve It All kit. It is loaded with Bella Boulevard Honey I'm Home and October Afternoon Report Card lines {and lots of other fun goodies}. I just looove these Label Addition Stickers! I know I said that before once or twice, lol.

I paint the Pink Paislee chipboard house off white and then while it was still wet, I loaded it with Shimmerz. It lost some of it's shine but I love how it settled in the grooves of the paint.
