Sweet Stamp Shop Stamps and free digi file!

Happy Thursday! Today I have a little altered project for you today using the fun new Mermaid Stamp set called Under the Sea.

This is such a great set and can be used for a variety of projects. When I saw the seaweed,  I instantly thought of making my own flower.

I stamped the image in a variety of colors and then cut them out. Then I layered them and added a button and bow.

So getting inspired?  Well SSS is having weekly challenges now!
The challenge is Paper Piecing!
Sweet Stamp Shop stamps are perfect for so many things but oh to paper piece them :) Makes me happy! I would like to note that you DO NOT have to use Sweet Stamp Shop stamps in order to play along. we understand everyone has a different stash and sometimes a certain stamp is just *perfect* for the challenge. However we would love to see what you create with our stamps too :) You don't currently own any Sweet Stamp Shop Stamps?!

Don't forget to head over to the flickr group to upload your projects!

Last Day for the SSS Blog hop!

We had terrible thunderstorms yesterday, last night through this morning and we just got power back so sorry I am a few minutes late today.

What a crazy night with these storms! AND we slept in too long this morning b/c no alarm ...ooops!

So here is my layout. This MME patterned paper is perfect for the hexagon stamps. I think these are going to be the hot ticket! Hexagon stamps?!?!??!!????

This layout has a great story behind it so I will summarize the journaling for you. We get together with my mom's side of the family every December for Christmas. While we were together we picked a date for my Nana's 90th Birthday party this past May. Well, I get an email from my Aunt in March or so and she tells us we added wrong that Nana is only 89! hahaha...Well...we had the party anyway and it's a good thing b/c she  is in stage 4 battling lung cancer. She had such a good time and here is a layout with all the crazy cousins singing happy birthday to her.

I love love to stamp on patterned paper so I used one as an accent here. I also cut the hexagon with my exacto knife and layered strips of Core'dinations underneath it.

And here are some more of the stamps. I layered one with a sticker (run your sticker through you embossing machines for added texture. Just put them on wax paper)

I used some WOW embossing powder on the ghost and added googley eyes.

And just a bigger close-up (kind of an oxymoron LOL!)

Core'dinations Card Design Team Call

Calling all Cardmakers … Core’dinations ColorCore Cardstock is looking for Card Designers!

Core is THE MOST generous manufacturer. You will get loads of yummy product!

We are looking for talented and dedicated cardmakers that can not only create cards but other projects that can show the creative use of pre-made card bases (like our Core Cards that are pre-cut and scor’d. Think about it like this: if we sent you a pack of our Core Cards what would you do with them? ), die cuts, and embellishments. We are looking for cards that use all kinds of die cuts…tags, labels, scalloped pieces, hearts, stars etc. Any design, whether you cut it with your own machine or if it is pre-made is fine (so don’t worry if you do not have a die cutting machine you will not need one if chose as part of the team).
- Step One: Design and then post three projects in one posting on your personal blog on or before Friday August 10th at 12:00pm EST titled “Core Cards Creative Frenzy” Keep in mind we are looking for paper crafters that specialize in cardmaking and that can showcase pre-made card bases and die cuts with cards and other unique projects.  Feel free to include step out photos or step-by-step instructions of any techniques that you used that you feel need highlighting as we are looking for our designers to be able to create tutorials in PDF format on occasion.
- Step Two: Send us an email with a link to this exact blog posting to Please ensure the link is to “Core Cards Creative Frenzy” posting and not just a link to your blog. It makes it much easier to find, especially if you post frequently on your blog. Please include in your email your name, mailing address, phone number, and email address. Also include a resume of your publications and current design team obligations (if applicable).
- We are also looking for designers that are comfortable creating how-to videos and tutorials as well so please let is us know if this interests you (camera and compensation will be provided).
- If you have any questions about the application process and/or design team requirements, be sure to post them on the Core’dinations’ Facebook page  or on this post as they may be questions that several applicants would like answered or email Ellen at New projects or the use of Core’dinations Cardstock is not required but if you have some Core’dinations and would like to create something brand new we would love to see it!
Requirements will be comparable to other papercrafting companies  and  Core’dinations will compensate with ample  product as well as monetary compensation for special projects.  Ideally we are looking for designers that have blogs to help with promotional activities (only on occasion) but this is not a requirement so please feel free to send us a link to an online gallery, flickr account, etc.
