Canvas Corp Banner Contest

Have you found Canvas Corp yet??? I found their products at Archivers last year at Scrapfest while I was there with Core'dinations and haven't looked back. I just LOVE them!!! Check out there Facebook fan page here, too. There is some great inspiration over there. AND they have such cool stuff for your home, too {sigh}.

So for my banner, I used the Canvas Circles and the Large Square Banner and Heart in burlap. I also used the new Crate Paper Toy Box collection from the Nook's add ons for March.

I kind of like how it isn't 100% symmetrical yet it still seems balanced. And the wide ribbon is from May Arts.

Here are some close ups....it is so hard to get a good close up photo of the bigger banners....

I did some misting on here with some Glimmer Mists and a scalloped circle that I cut with my Spellbinders (I also used them for the scalloped shape in behind the canvas).

Haha, I love how the dartboard fits perfectly! {sigh} I just love these canvas circles...SO versatile!

I also did a video entry. It has been rainy and yucky here for the last week so I thought this might help get some close up details. PLUS, the above photos are on my baker's rack, LOL! I wanted shots of the banner on his actual shelf with his other toys ;)

Phew!

Well, this last week just flew by, didn't it? The scrappy weekend with my girls just came and went, the flu bug that hit our house, okay well just me, this week came and went...and now finals are here and the craziness begins once again, LOL!

I did get some scrappiness done this weekend which was fun! I am excited b/c I got to play with some new Studio Calico! I got all my new S.C. from Norma over at For the Luv of Art.

I stamped around the cut out alpha and then ran it through my Cuttlebug along with the birdie.

Another fun detail. You know how I looove to use my Cuttlebug!!!! AND A HUGE SHOUT OUT TO LEAH!!! I won this Lifestyle Crafts die cut on her blog and I put it to use ASAP!

And here is some older papers I had in my stash. Turns out that you kind find some amaZing goodies when you aren't looking for them. I was going through some older stuff b/c I made a pact with myself I would use my older stash before the new CHA stuff and I found an entire Studio Calico goodie bag! It was one that I got from a Scrapbook Trends pub and it go buried somehow so I tore into it ASAP!

For this background, I ran my Washi Tape through my, yes, you guessed it... Cuttlebug, LOL!

l.r.a.r stands for Little Rock, AR. Since we booked our tickets to go see Uncle Dave and Aunt Suzie I thought I would celebrate with a layout :)

Hi Tuesday!

I am trying to savor Tuesday right now b/c we are supposed to get SNOW tomorrow! I knew as soon as I changed my blog over to a more springy look this would happen, LOL! Can you believe a winter storm warning from tonight until Thursday morning???

Anywho....how's your week going? I have been busy working and getting ready for a scrappy weekend!!! Can't wait to spend the weekend with my girls and hanging out. I figured I should at least vacuum for them ;) OH! Owen has his swimming championships, too. His first year swimming and he qualified for two events.

He was SO cute at last week's meet. He was SO excited to swim breaststroke that he swam it a race early! Brian & I are like, "what stroke his he swimming"??? LOL! The guy next to us was like, "who cares...he's winning"! He got 2nd place in his freestyle heat swimming breaststroke. Gosh, I love that kid.

I think we should celebrate with some photos, don't you?

Congrats!

Happy Friday! I have some more cards to share today. Working through my scraps over the last few months has been so great. I love making room for all the new scrappy stuff I just purchased within the last few weeks.

These two cards are actually two of my favorites. If you've been here before you know my love of gray! And, for me, this card sums up the last two weeks for me.....Congrats, Ellen! You made it through the last two weeks. I have been working my tail off. I picked up extra hours at work subbing for someone who lost a family member. Three 12 hour days last week and then I subbed again last night. I love it though! AND this Saturday is our St Patty's Day parade :):):)

So....Core'dinations Cardstock, Jillibean Soup, SRM stickers on this card and Making Memories big glitter alpha. I love these and raided my stash ;)

Lots of Core'dinations on this card. I just love this color combo and I cut out the stars from the Core Impressions and accented them on the card in addition to some pearls. And a fun SRM sticker sentiment with the trusty 'ole circle punch ;)

C-A-R-D-S!

I have loads of cards to share today. I got happy with the Core on this post ;) These are a few cards from some of the Moxxie Fab Challenges that I did early this year. So fun!
Make sure you check out the Core'dination's Blog here for more details. I cannot say enough about this company. SUPER generous, awesome to work for and just plan FUN!

So these cards have a whole mix of Core'dinations....Whitewash, Core Essentials and the NEW Glitter Silk.

I just love this Butterfly Die Cut from Kreaxions! I love it embossed, too. I use some SRM stickers on here as well.

Lots of Whitewash....

Lots of embossing and punching on this Monochromatic card with some more SRM Stickers.....Core Essentials and Whitewash....

Loved this challenge for some jewel tones. You will love love love love love love love love this Glitter Silk from Core'dinations. It cuts like butter, doesn't shed glitter all over your desk, folds brilliantly with NO tearing. I highly recommend it.

Have a great week!!!!!!!!!!

Jenni Bowlin and some NEW Core!

Wahoo! It's Jenni Bowlin and Core'dinations time! Teaming up with them has been so fun. Even though Vintage is not necessarily my style, you can use the elements for a more simple kinda style like mine. Don't be afraid!!! :)

First up is a card where I used the negative of the punched butterfly. I love that look on the Bingo card and the touches of yellow in this patterned paper.

This layout really is quite simple. It's the cool vintage paper in the background that is really funky. I was TERRIFIED of this sheet of patterned paper when I saw it and thought.....there is NO way that I am going to use this. Then I got my Chili Cookoff photos done and Voila! Sanding this Black Magic is FUN! Here it is....it was a fun challenge from the Crop over that at JBS. I would highly recommend heading over to their next crop.

buttons and twine (sigh)

Double Trouble.

So the secret is out of the bag. I loved Double Trouble. Remember that show? Now granted I was a bit young when it first came out but I loved loved the reruns and their awesome 80's style! Oh man...who misses the 80's???? If you remember that show you gotta check out some of them videos on youtube. So fun! I remember Amber and I fighting about which twin we wanted to be.

So...what else is out of the bag? That I have been doing double page layouts! Wahoooooo! Can I tell you how much fun these are? I set some scrappy goals for myself this year and one of them was to do scrap more photos (hence my last post) and one of the ways to do that is to scrap double page layouts, right? Well sign me up. I just love doing these.
Here is one I did with some Jillibean Soup goodies and Core'dinations. I loved it and actually I have done 3 (almost) four more of these since this one, too.

So how about this Bonfire, huh? INSANE! It burned til 4 am. It was a fun night ;) Who says you can't have fun in Arkansas???????? I think I can find fun anywhere, LOL!

You can click on the image to make it larger....

I love using my Diamond Glaze from Stampin' Up! For fun little accents on my pages. A little goes a long way.

And I thought the Diamond Glaze looked great on the butterflies, too!

Good Morning!

Wahoo! Blogging on Sunday ;) But I have had a hard time getting my posts done on Friday the past few weeks so technically it is still the weekend. I have to laugh. I am so tired, LOL! Owen has been getting some really good reports from school (he has had some "listening to the teacher" issues) well, since he started school. So his reward was having some friends over last night.

So, needless today it has been over 12 hours of them wrestling, playing wrestling with figurines, dancing to Ke$ha and Taio Cruze, and complaining that Henry is bothering them. We put them to bed at 11ish...so by the time 1 am rolled around and I checked on them for the 3rd time they were asleep. But...every single light was on downstairs and the basement, they got papers out and were drawing, more soda (good thing it was caffeine free) ALL in the last 1/2 hour! So funny. They were really good though.

Oh and guess what else the got into? Yeppers. An ENTIRE bowl of Hershey Miniatures. I had two (of these dark chocolate ones) and Brian said he had a few so they ate all of these last night! LOL, can't say I blame them.

So next up is a layout that I worked on while Joyce and I were scrapping on Friday. I busted out her brand new Martha punch. You know you are friends when you let someone use a brand new just out of the package Martha punch before you get to use it ;)

So I found the Get Picky Challenge blog through Tanya Tahir and I just love it! Inspiration for multi photo layouts and it has really helped me scrap more larger photos on one page. I can do lots of wallets no sweat but I really want to grow in this area and feel as if I have. Here is my layout for this week's challenge. I don't have a lot of romantic-"y" papers b/c that isn't really my style but since they all used Pink Paislee, I ran with that Since I have some Queen Bee that I hoarded from last year. I drew inspiration from their layouts by placing my photo horizontal and making that linear design. Just because you scrap on the simpler side doesn't mean you can use those "froo froo" papers! (that's the technical term, LOL). The cardstock base is Core'dinations Core Impression by Graphic 45.

Color inspiration is from The Color Room, as usual, I missed the cut off but loved this palette so I did I used it for inspo anyway.

Adhesives are from Glue Arts (Glider Pro and Adhesive squares)

Halloween in March?

Yes Ma'am! It's no secret that I love Halloween...maybe more than the kiddos. Each year I say we are going to have a Halloween party but this year I swear we are! I just love seeing everyone dressed up, esp the kids. I am sure you could understand my excitement this year when Owen FINALLY let me paint his face!!!! Then, to my dismay, he wouldn't let me do it...he wanted to {sigh} himself. I cannot fight his urge for independence, I am not sure where he gets that from?

So here is a fun layout I created for {another} Challenge over at Scrap Attack Scrapbooking. They really got my mojo going the other weekend at their crop. This was for a paper folding challenge. Since I am not much of a paper folding flower kinda girl, I went with fold my Vintage Core'dinations cardstock and sanding it. As I was doing this, these little monsters were staring at me and i thought...wouldn't this be a fun place for them to sit?

Other supplies: Jillibean Soup papers, alphas, kraft and die cut shape; SRM Stickers;

Here is a close up of their little ledge....so compfy and cute. I mean scary looking....
Now sewing all this paper folding down wasn't enough. I used some Glue Arts Extreme Adhesive Squares, too.

Have a great week!!!!
