Wacky Wednesday with some Pink Paislee

So are you ready for the Holiday?  I am. R  AND R baby.  I have the worst chest cold and sinus infection. What a way to spend the Holiday. Good thing is we aren't doing NADA. Nope, nothing...just going to the in-laws and chillin'. Can't wait for that. With this cold I might want to stay in bed but I might get yanked out.  Maybe if I threaten them with cooking I will get to stay in bed ;)

Speaking of chillin'...I have the funniest photo of henry and i sneaking some cheetos in the garage the other day. He is the quirkiest kid. He wanted a snack so I got him some in a bowl and he asked to go eat them in the garage. What?  Yep. Garage. So I got out the cooler and he got out his chair and we had a Cheeto picnic. So without further ado...  let me introduce you to Mr. Cheeto Face....

And then of course Mr Nosey didn't want to miss anything so he came out to make sure we weren't shooting baskets in his new basketball hoop. We will call him Mr No Shoes in November...

Anywho....

So up for a project? I made this for the Core'dinations and Pink Paislee blog  swap last week. Core and PP teamed up for the GORGEOUS Pink Paislee Modern Prints Core Impressions line...

{Remember to click on the images for larger images and a slide show}

I layered and layered the cut out flowers with some Glue Arts UCut 3D Adhesives.
And I stole this cool scissor from Joyce to make these fun flowers. This scissor is SO FUN! I would definitely recommend stealing one from a friend ;)

And a card....

Tim Holtz Kraft-Core Wreath with Glue Arts

This wreath is featured over at the Core blog for the Glue Arts Blog swap we had this week. This time of year is all about fall and with that time of year comes the time to be thankful for all we have.
I have made it a point to be thankful more often and to thank God about what I have and not what I want. For me it's about giving my thanks to the universe, knowing that more will come by being thankful than wanting and needing all the time.  It has brought an amazing kind of peace for me. Not wanting and needing things but just living be thankful...it's a bit hard to explain I guess.

With that being said... there are some special things about this wreath that I am very thankful for.  I am so thankful for my role over at Core. I love the people, have met friends that will be a part of my life forever, love the company, and of course the product!!!! And recently, I have had the opportunity to travel and I love to travel. Sometimes I wonder if I have a restless soul or something. I tell Brian all the time..when you are ready to move out of the US for another adventure let me know!

The  leaves on here were cut in the Netherlands when I was there doing some work for  Core. The Sizzix booth was next to me and Peter, one of their designers, demo'd the Vagabond and cut these leaves for me. They are gorgeous! The rich fall colors from the Tim Holt Kraft-Core collection are just perfection and to be able to create something from that means a lot. It's funny, too, because Brian was there with me and we all met up for dinner after work and Peter and Brian were like long lost brothers. They had so much in common it was crazy! It's amazing the way people come into your life.

Also the wooden spool is from my husband's grandfather's sewing kit. His grandfather was a tailor in the Navy. When he came home from Pearl Harbor (he floated on a mattress for days until he was rescued) he was the town MilkMan. They called him Willy the Milkman and he also sewed clothes, drapes and did repairs. I love hearing my husband's stories of driving in the truck with him delivering milk when he was a boy.  We are blessed to have his sewing machine in our home and all of his supplies including hundreds of wooden spools like this.

Glue Arts!

This week Core'dinations and Glue Arts are teaming up for some inspiration!

So make sure you head over to both blogs for some chances to win goodies and check out the gorgeous projects the design teams have been up to.

I really love Glue Arts. Whenever we have a trade show or make-n-takes to make, Glue Arts is there to supply us with Glue Glider pro's and Square Adhesives. They are super super generous!

And next up I created a card using some Pink Paislee Core Impressions and a Core Tag in Pastels (I looooove these!!!) I was over at their Live Pink (The Pink Paislee forum) this weekend and played along with some of their WCMD challenges to upcycle so I used a rubon applicator.
This is the best part. I used some UCut it Foam Adhesive, of course, and ONE adhesive square for the rubon applicator! I only needed one that is how tacky they are. I put it right under the ribbon knot and it’s not going anywhere.

Good Morning!

Wahoo! Blogging on Sunday ;) But I have had a hard time getting my posts done on Friday the past few weeks so technically it is still the weekend. I have to laugh. I am so tired, LOL! Owen has been getting some really good reports from school (he has had some "listening to the teacher" issues) well, since he started school. So his reward was having some friends over last night.

So, needless today it has been over 12 hours of them wrestling, playing wrestling with figurines, dancing to Ke$ha and Taio Cruze, and complaining that Henry is bothering them. We put them to bed at 11ish...so by the time 1 am rolled around and I checked on them for the 3rd time they were asleep. But...every single light was on downstairs and the basement, they got papers out and were drawing, more soda (good thing it was caffeine free) ALL in the last 1/2 hour! So funny. They were really good though.

Oh and guess what else the got into? Yeppers. An ENTIRE bowl of Hershey Miniatures. I had two (of these dark chocolate ones) and Brian said he had a few so they ate all of these last night! LOL, can't say I blame them.

So next up is a layout that I worked on while Joyce and I were scrapping on Friday. I busted out her brand new Martha punch. You know you are friends when you let someone use a brand new just out of the package Martha punch before you get to use it ;)

So I found the Get Picky Challenge blog through Tanya Tahir and I just love it! Inspiration for multi photo layouts and it has really helped me scrap more larger photos on one page. I can do lots of wallets no sweat but I really want to grow in this area and feel as if I have. Here is my layout for this week's challenge. I don't have a lot of romantic-"y" papers b/c that isn't really my style but since they all used Pink Paislee, I ran with that Since I have some Queen Bee that I hoarded from last year. I drew inspiration from their layouts by placing my photo horizontal and making that linear design. Just because you scrap on the simpler side doesn't mean you can use those "froo froo" papers! (that's the technical term, LOL). The cardstock base is Core'dinations Core Impression by Graphic 45.

Color inspiration is from The Color Room, as usual, I missed the cut off but loved this palette so I did I used it for inspo anyway.

Adhesives are from Glue Arts (Glider Pro and Adhesive squares)

Halloween in March?

Yes Ma'am! It's no secret that I love Halloween...maybe more than the kiddos. Each year I say we are going to have a Halloween party but this year I swear we are! I just love seeing everyone dressed up, esp the kids. I am sure you could understand my excitement this year when Owen FINALLY let me paint his face!!!! Then, to my dismay, he wouldn't let me do it...he wanted to {sigh} himself. I cannot fight his urge for independence, I am not sure where he gets that from?

So here is a fun layout I created for {another} Challenge over at Scrap Attack Scrapbooking. They really got my mojo going the other weekend at their crop. This was for a paper folding challenge. Since I am not much of a paper folding flower kinda girl, I went with fold my Vintage Core'dinations cardstock and sanding it. As I was doing this, these little monsters were staring at me and i thought...wouldn't this be a fun place for them to sit?

Other supplies: Jillibean Soup papers, alphas, kraft and die cut shape; SRM Stickers;

Here is a close up of their little ledge....so compfy and cute. I mean scary looking....
Now sewing all this paper folding down wasn't enough. I used some Glue Arts Extreme Adhesive Squares, too.

Have a great week!!!!

Twig, Twig, Twig!!!!

Oh Twig, oh how I love the... hahaha....Seriously. I am almost out of it and I need more! :):):) It is by far my favorite line from CHA. You have to try the acetate woodgrain tape!!! swoooon....

First up is my layout for ScrapAttack Scrapbooking's monthly contest where LYB is the sponsor. All the patterned paper and embellishments are from the Twig Line (except AC alphas) and the the cardstock base is Core'dinations. The action on the photo is Sunkist from the CoffeeShop blog.

See that embossed polka dot under the photos? That is some of the packaging that I inked slightly.
Canvas tags = ellen happy.

And here are the awesome acetate stickers!!!!!!!!!! BE STILL my heart I love these! They are pre backed so I cut some strips and then ran them through my Cuttlebug :)

Next Up is a layout I did for the LYB sketch challenge. It's a layout about me in 2010...my goals, accomplishments...feelings...you know...a little recap. Just b/c this paper is blue and green doesn't mean you can't use it for girls ;)

Some Hidden journaling under the photo.....oh and remember that fun flower that I learned how to make last weekend over at Scrap Attack Scrapbooking??? Here is AnoTheR one!!! :):):) I used my Glue Arts Square adhesives. I just love that they are so sticky and flat...that way they don't make your projects all bulky.

And the sketch had this fun banner in the corner so I did something a bit different with it....

All Adhesives are Glue Arts.
