It's {almost} FRIDAY!

and i am stoked. my girls are coming in from Philly and jersey this weekend. it is bittersweet though. it is for a ride for a our best friend who lost her sister 3 years ago to a massive heart attack. she was 8 mos pregnant at the time and they lost the baby, too. so the last saturday in september we do a ride for her and we bar hop and raise money for the American Heart Association and the Harley's are a blazin'! if your the praying kind, this would be the time to say a prayer for her 15 year old son, tyler, and her husband {tyler's step dad} and the rest of the family. every day is still a rough one for them. she was only 35.

okay, debbie downer is done now...on a happier note! I participated in the Collage Press challenge again this month. I just flippin' love their papers. I did the altered challenge last month here. The stamp is a myStampBox stamp, 2 of the buttons & ricrac are Jillibean Soup and a touch of Core'dinations.

one more thing...Don't forget about the Pimp Your Bra Crop over at Serendipity Scrapbooks! We have a TON of sponsors...Core'dinations, books from Ali E, Sherry Stevenson and Becky Fleck, DCWV, Stampin' up! and more! And we are having a Critter Craze contest this month!!! Got Critters??? this would be a great way to use them up! AND you can win 50 bucks in product! if you haven't seen kristen's kits then you are missing out.

Creative Cuts and More & Be Inspired # 50

Hope everyone is having a great wednesday! this is a super crazy busy week for me at work but that is okay, i have all day friday free and my scrap room is calling me! i also got good news last week that the business school where i teach asked me to come back for two more classes next term so i am super pumped about that.

Here is my latest project from Creative Cuts and more. I cannot get enough of these fun little die cut boxes. They are so fun to make. I thought this would be a great gift card holder for a baby or kid's birthday. This particular box is the crayon box. Make sure you check out 2Sketches4you b/c they are sponsoring this week's sketch with a card kit!

I used Sassafrass Lass pp's, ran it through my Cuttlebut and added a combo of Shimmerz spritz and Glimmer Mist to the raffia.

I did a tut on how to make paper bows over at the Cuttlebug Challenge blog this week! I have to admit, my wonderful friend Joanne showed me these first so this is not my original idea. But I love it and use it a lot...I have the measurements memorized, LOL.

Happy Sunday!

I rarely post on Sundays, LOL...

esp when we are golfing ;) so i am doing this on Saturday and scheduling it...i have been participating in the Scrapperie and Scrapadilly crops this weekend and I saw this My Mind's Eye challenge and I just had to scrap with all this inspiration!

When I saw the challenge at MME, I had to jump on it. I live in area where so few people care about recycling and the environment that i could just SCREAM! they don't pick up recycleables here so people just throw them away b/c driving to the center {which is 30 secs from the school and they can drive their kids to school} is just toooooooooooooooo far. And more..kids growing up not knowing that their actions directly effect the lives of so many, including themselves....there's more but I don't want to go there here... ;0

So this is where it went for me ;) It sums it up, I think.

All patterned papers and the diecut are from My Mind's Eye...I rolled the pieces around a thin paintbrush and then layered the tag over them...just for something different...they remind me of scrolls and time and all that plays into the challenge. I also used the NEW Core'dinations Core Impressions Jenni Bowlin cardstock SOON to be released!

I put my letters through my Cuttlebug! Just put them on wax paper and they come right off!

Circut Love

I wanted to share a Cricut creation I made for the contest going on over at Two Peas. I punched these circles out of My Mind's Eye paper and layered them along the bottom and once I was done with that, I thought...how can I make a title that will

1.) be quick and easy and
2.) light enough to layer over these circles.

Aha!

yes, my Cricut. I have to admit, I go to my Cricut for quick and easy titles and inspiration and that is why I love it.

After cutting the titles with my Jubilee Cartridge, I ran them through my Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots embossing folder and added a button....voile! title done.

Be sure to check out the latest Cricut Promotion, The Great Gypsy Escape! Purchase one of 4 new Cricut catridges for a chance to win a new Gyspy (handheld design studio for Cricut), $2,000 travel vouchers and even a $30,000 trip to one of 5 fabulous locations!

Cuttlebug Be Inspired Challenge No. 49, etc...

Before I get started I have some EXCITING news to share....thanks to all your awesome comments for my Halloween post with my Die Cut Diva goodies, Terry ask me to stay on permanently!

AND I got an email today with some exciting news that has to wait until October 1st...booo! jk ;). At least I can tell Brain and the kids and they can keep my secret, especially since Henry is only 1.5 yrs old, I can count on him for his silence.

Anywhoo...let's get down to the good stuff!

First {technically I think this is third since I posted 2 things already, LOL} my DEAR friend Maggie whom I love and was my FIRST online scrapping buddy is launching another site {b/c she doesn't have enough to do, LOL} called Cutting Above. It is a challenge blog that focuses on all kinds of cutting machines. So if you have a Cricut, you want to stop there and check it out. They are doing a lot of talk about the Gypsy. And HSN is doing live coverage starting at 12 am on September 24th and Maggie is doing an informercial using the Gypsy. How fun!? So make sure you run over there and check out the blog, get signed up and follow for some exciting stuff.

Here is my mini album for the Cuttlebug Challenge Blog Be Inspired challenge this week. I decided to make the mini as a matchbook and the pages are actually bowling score sheets i found here.

Again, bowling balls with the jenni bowin core'dinations cardstock.

this is how we bowl...get it...this is how we roll...??? LOL!

Die Cut Diva Guest Spot & Blog Hop

WELCOME TO THE DIE CUT DIVA BLOG HOP!

didn't Chris have some amazing goodies???

I have been so excited for this post for weeks now! I am one of the September Guest Designers over at Creative Cuts and More. YOU have to check out these fun die cuts! Terry has a ton of them in her store and they are SO awesome! she cuts them herself and you can pick from smooth or textured Bazzill, acrylic, tacky tape {just peal it off to adhere glitter}, felt, chipboard and more!

For my first project, I filled this candy wrapper diecut with Halloween Treats and then used some Brand new Jillibean Soup Ribbon, fibers and a Journal Sprout and a touch of Graphite Glimmer Mist to finish it off. Oh, and a new Pink Paislee Twilight Press on ;)

Next, {and a personal favorite of mine} I created this Halloween "Tree". I got this on sale last year during a fall clearance and it had some dried flowers on it. I snipped them off and had the twiggs left so I grabbed some guaze, Art Institute glitter, stickles, Glimmer Mist, Doodlebug crushed velvet flock, and Doodlebug Jewels and my dies and went to town!

Oh and how could forget my Cuttlebug!? I used the Swiss Dots and Moraccan folders. Not sure ifyou can tell but on this acrylic spider I used a MyStampBox stamp on it to give it some spots.

Now...let's hop! This is the order of the hop......HAVE FUN! and next is Stephany...

I am such a dork, LOL!

so...it's 4:20 am here and i can't sleep. i have been up since 2 and took more benadryl but still, alas, i am awake.

Why benadryl, you ask? that would be b/c my right eye is completely swollen shut from poison ivy. i bet all you east coasters know what i mean about this stuff...and i get it bad...i must have run into it this weekend {where i still have no idea} and spread it all over...my foot, ankle, leg, back of my thigh {this feels great when you sit}, all over my neck, ear and eyes...my eye is getting worse instead of getting better but at least my left eye is pretty much back to normal b/c i got some prednazone {sp?} today.

the bummer is, i can't even scrap! booooooooooooo! i tried to read tonight but it hard too so tv is my only other option and i am spent on that already.

so anywho...have your laugh...have your chuckle at my expense it is quite funny, actually!

i wanted to leave you with a layout and card from the Serendipity Scrapbooks Altered kit for September...it is loaded with Dream Street Sam papers and My Mind's Eye goodies and i just love these wooden brads from Chatterbox, they take Glimmer Mist really well. Oh, and i added a My StampBox stamp. I found this company over NSD weekend this year and have quite a few of their stamp sets {Glimmer Mist and stamps not in kit}. I used the Prima packaging from the flowers we got in the kit for the mask.

don't forget to go over to the Cuttlebug Challenge blog and leave comments! even if you don't do the challenge, you can still win from commets!

And i would be remiss if i didn't add something about today. i have been watching memorials all morning long, remember those who lost their lives this day September 11th, i am wishing their families peace, though i cannot imagine that kind of grief. cheers to all of our soldiers that defend this country everyday!

Cuttlebug Be Inspired Challenge No. 48

We are still having a blast partying away at the Cuttlebug Challenge blog! WOOT WOOT! I am loving my bowling theme!!! Owen always wanted a bowling party so now I am good to go with everything that I need.

Make sure you check out the tutorial on how to alter a tin for quarters for the arcade and how to alter a Jenni Bowlin bingo card for bing bowling! yeah baby.

So here is an altered treat bag and gift card. I used the NEW and FANTABULOUS Jenni Bowlin {kinda like Bowlin -g LOL} embossed Core'dinations cardstock from CHA this year. I sanded the embossed circles and thought, hey! these would make cute bowling balls! so i used my stylus and added some paint dots. Make sure you get your fave online store or LSS to get this stuff...it rocks!

and a close-up....

here is the bag and card....

ALSO! i have some BIG, HUGE news! We are having a Pimp Your Bra crop over at Serendipity Scrapbooks the weekend of October 16-19th!

We have loads of sponsors already! and they aren't all scrapbooking companies!!! ;) ;) ;)

Some scrappy stuff...

so how is everyone's weekend going so far? these past few weeks have been crazy busy but i thrive off of it for some reason.

i have actually scrapped a lot despite working more hours and owen having football and school starting...i don't know how but i have, LOL! i think it is b/c i make time for it, kwim? i schedule it in my day just like i do my job and it works...even if i don't have any mojo there is always cleaning my room up, LOL!

i got to do my first blog post/tutorial over at the Cuttlebug Challenge blog! this is what i made so if you are curious, click here. And of course i had to use some Core'dinations ;0

i also did a tutorial over at Serendipity Scrapbooks for some Webster's Pages trim. they have THE best trim! i just love it and i made this flower when i had my guest spot there and i got a lot of questions on how i did it, so i made one with pom pom trim.

i like the one with the brown, satin trim much better but you get the idea. plus if you are like me, than you have a TON of pompom trim lying around! LOL! i should have started it up a bit more so it was centered better but once you start, you can't stop on this b/c of the adhesive.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

It is a birthday celebration ALL MONTH LONG over at the Cuttlebug Challenge Blog! Participate in all the challenges and get a chance to be pubbed in Ready Set Create! All the challenges and tutorials this month will be about making your own party, from invitations to party favors...we have the inspo for you!

First off...invitations...

The theme for my party is a Bowling Party! The great thing about a bowling party is it isn't genger specific. And I have some fun games and party favors up my sleeve for ya later this month. Can't wait to share them! My invitations feature Core'dinations Cardstock and the Cuttlebug Herringbong Folder. I love using my 6x6 acrylic block to sand an edge on my Core'dinations. It is super easy and looks great!

Make sure you let me know if you are playing along this month so I can come see!
