Advent Calendar

I love hanging out over at The Paper Passion. I posted for some help with an advent calendar that will fit Legos and I got some GREAT ideas! After some web searching I thought of these bags from Whisker Graphics . The might be better know for Divine Twine..which of course I got some for the Holidays...the Green and Red spool which I used loads of for this project. I just didn't have time to alter something myself or even build one out of paper so these bags are perfect!

Well, I needed one that I could fit a Leg figurine so there needed to be room. I decided on some of the little treat bags from Whisper Graphics.  I knew the would be PERFECT to use when I got my Mullen Crest kit! (which is sold out, I hope you got yours..but there is still one Angel wings kit!!!)
Now..the lighting in our kitchen isn't so great so these first few pics are a bit rough (keep scrolling...I captured photos of them off the hooks for better lighting) I have this wire here already because I use clothespins that Owen and I painted to hang their artwork. I took that down, got some Melissa Frances clips and Voila! We have our 2013 Advent Calendar. PLUS, these were SO FUN to decorate!
The Jillibean Soup Label stickers from the kit fit perfectly along the top of the bags.
And some close ups of the gorgeous patterned papers in Mullen Crest. I used a snowflake punch and banner punch to get some of these embellishments and some rubons from my stash.

These photos are much better!

Banner punch, Martha holly punch, Spellbinder's die, Papertrey Ink die...
tools make life easy!

More punches and a glimpse of the pp in the Mullen Crest kit.

Here is Henry opening his bag for today:

Here he is digging in:

And Happy as a clam with a new Indiana Jones Lego guy :)

Stamping Galore!

Happy Monday! I love stamping so much. It was how I got into scrapping to begin with...and I got sentimental this weekend when I was cleaning out my closet and found a TON of old SU! order forms from when I was a demonstrator.

So here are a few projects I worked on recently.

Cardstock is Core'dinations Core Impressions Jenni Bowlin red and black. It was the FIRST CI line that Core did and one of my faves!  Stamps are Sweet Stamp Shop and other bits are from old Cocoa Daisy kits.

And some close ups of the stamping and other goodies. I put the tickets right on this layout.
I am seriously addicted to wood veneers.

This is the inside of the card below. Window cards are a fun way to spice things up ;)

This card uses a Cocoa Daisy stamp (the banner). It has a point on the other side but I cut that off to make it  more like a flag (Papers from The Paper Passion September Kit)

I used some Sweet Stamp Shop stamps here ...love these Alpha Doodles more than my own handwriting!
He is my bugger this kid...love him so much.

Happy Stamping!

I thought the angle would work well on this card. I popped it up with some pop up dots.

And a layout....love the navy blue in the kit that Laci paired with the oranges and greens.  If you have ever read Shel Silverstein's "the Giving Tree" book than this layout is for you. I got this photo a few weeks ago at a wedding and it totally reminded me of that book.

Sweet Stamp Shop October Release!

Happy Tuesday! We are excited to be with you again for another SUPER FUN release! This is always, always my most favorite time of the month.

I have been a long long long long time Philadelphia Phillies phan fan. See? I can't help myself, LOL!  I grew up going to the Vet to see games with my dad. The Vet is long gone and now we have CitiBank Field that I now take my kids to. It's a long day, over a two hour drive but it is worth it. We have so much fun and, of course, we get to see the Phillie Phanatic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I wanted to be the Phillie Phanatic when I grew up. No joke. It's on my bucket list to dance with him on the dug out one day.

So this season, they have these Phanatic hats for sale at the park. And when I saw them, I said, "that is genius!" So how perfect is this stamp set called Chemistry for that memory????

So first up the close up of the light bulb. I also stamped directly on a label sticker instead of cardstock.

click on this image to see the journal strips a bit closer. They are all stamped sentiments from this set.

I used the atom stamp and stamped directly on the wood veneer.

Cardstock is Core'dinations Jenni Bowlin Core Impressions.

A few things to remember: Final release day and reveal is the 25th. The new release deal is - the new stamps are $10!!!! YES ONLU 10 BUCKS!!!  (no code needed - they'll be marked down in the shop). Easy peasy!!!
Todays list is:

Stampendous Saturday!

Happy Saturday!  Today I used the Mumpkin stamp and some Stampendous Glitter along with some Core'dinations Cardstock in Orange and White (Core Essentials) and Black Magic. And I used some of my Glitter Silk Scraps from earlier this week for some photo corners. Don't be afraid to stamp on that textured cardstock!!!!!

I cut parts of the stamp set, used some FAB Stampendous Glitter as an extra accent and layered them with 3D foam adhesive.  He is so cute!!!

I embossed the little bat from LYB (their halloween line last year was my FAVE!) and added some May Arts Ribbon, too.

Stampendous & Core Blog Hop

Hi Everyone!

If you are joining us for Stampendous and Core’dinations blog hop…Welcome!!! We had so much fun yesterday…I can’t wait to show you want I created for you today.

So…today I wanted to show you a technique I used a lot. I am using the Pumpkenstein Cling Stamp. Sometimes there are parts of the stamp that I don’t necessarily want to use at a particular time. In this instance, I wanted to use googely eyes but the eyes from the Frankenstein were a little too big. They stuck out of the sides of the googley eyes. SO…I inked up the stamp and then wiped off the eyes with a paper towel.

Then I stamped the image. You can see a little bit shows up but that is okay because the eyes will cover it up.

And then Frank’s hair needed a pick me up so I added some Stampendous Glitter.

AND how much do you LOVE this purple Glitter Silk???? Check it out embossed! (Sigh) It’s gorgeous…one of my faves. And it really pops off of that Black Magic cardbase.

Here are the blogs for today. Have fun!!!!

Collage Challenge

well check me out!

Oh and I got a sweet email the other day from Emily Pitts asking to lift a layout. I thought that was fun, too!
Click here to see the gallery lift.

It's no secret here that I sub to the Cocoa Daisy kits.  It has been going on a year now and I love them. Always fresh and funky stuff, I don't have to shop for anything b/c I know I am getting cool stuff in my kit.
And they have challenges that get me going. I don't scrap as  much as use to, unfortunately, so I am happy to jump over there and join in every once in awhile.
So I created this layout for the collage challenge on the blog the other day. These challenges are right up my alley since my style tends to be a bit simpler.

These are pics from our trip to NYC last year.

We stayed at this goth, funky hotel called Night right downtown
and it was awesome. So I thought this would be the perfect way to accent the memorabilia I brought home.
I did some journaling in the room key holder and just sealed it with some washi tape.

Happy Thursday! Today I have a little altered project for you today using the fun new Mermaid Stamp set called Under the Sea.

This is such a great set and can be used for a variety of projects. When I saw the seaweed,  I instantly thought of making my own flower.

I stamped the image in a variety of colors and then cut them out. Then I layered them and added a button and bow.

So getting inspired?  Well SSS is having weekly challenges now!
The challenge is Paper Piecing!
Sweet Stamp Shop stamps are perfect for so many things but oh to paper piece them :) Makes me happy! I would like to note that you DO NOT have to use Sweet Stamp Shop stamps in order to play along. we understand everyone has a different stash and sometimes a certain stamp is just *perfect* for the challenge. However we would love to see what you create with our stamps too :) You don't currently own any Sweet Stamp Shop Stamps?!

AND you get a FREE digi file, too! YOU NEED TO HEAD OVER TO THE SSS BLOG TO GET IT..THIS JUST A PHOTO  OF THE SUPER CUTE FILE!
