David Tutera Celebrate Cardmaking system!

I don't know about you but these days since I am scrapping less, quick and easy is right up my alley!
So today I wanted to share with you some David Tutera Celebrate Cardmaking system projects I made in just a matter of minutes.

I looooooove having gift bags in my stash.  For these bags I used a Step 2 layer and then some tags. Add a quick Sentiment sticker and you are done!

And the mini tags are the BOMB! I love to stamp on these, too! I am kind of diggin the white on white, too.

Imaginisce and Core

HI Everyone! If you are here today then you are hopping with Core  and Imaginisce!

I loooooove my i-Rock! I have had it for a few years now and use it a ton. My favorite is the tear drop/rain drops so that is what I used today.
For the first card, I cut out a sun. Just traced it using a lid and then sanded it. Then I turned my card around and made the "sun lines" with a pencil and then scored. I always scor from the back so the raised images are on the front so you can sand them. So it was easy. I used Vintage Cardstock for this card.

Remember to click on the images to make them larger :)

Then I thought...why not use the negative image from my Silhouette cut? That is what I did for this card and then just did some embossing and more i rock LOVE! I used Brights Collection pack for these fun, bright colors.

Here's the list for today:

Tim Holtz Kraft-Core Shattered

Playing with Core'dinations is always fun! The Tim Holtz Kraft Core Shattered cardstock is SO COOL! It's got a crackle finish on it so you don't  even need patterned paper!

I looks super cool embossed, too! Of course I used some Sizzix embossing folders from Tim as well.

And some scoring always goes a long way. And don't forget how cool it looks torn...that kraft core looks so cool!

Washi Wednesday!

I kinda like the sound of that!

AND I got crafty with my washi tape. I used my birthday money and got a typewriter. I gotta tell  you. I am a lazy scrapper. Getting out of my room, going to printer, lining up journaling, the printing, cutting..etc...BLEH!

So I decided to invest in a typewriter that I just pull out, plug in and type my journaling right then and there and I loooove it. I find myself journaling MORE! So that is what I focused on with this layout.

So first, I played with the washi design on a piece of white cardstock making sure it was lined up where my photo was going to be and then just typed away.
All cardstock is Core'dinations Cardstock, Washi is a mix of some I found on ebay, Queen & Co. and My Mind's Eye. Letters are Heidi Swapp. I cut the tag from my Silhouette with some Kraft Core and used a Cocao Daisy stamp on it...love this wine stamp I got from there...I use it a lot :)

Getting back on the horse...thanks to a friend :)

So a friend whom I have grown to love and admire posted the sweetest thing on my FB page the other day about missing my blog. I never knew people really read it and to be honest...that might have been the nicest compliment I have received in a long, long time. I know..a bit cheestastic but it feels good to know it.
xoxoxo Mel :)
Thank you for brining me back to something I love and missed. Do I scrap as much?  No...but I still do a little and you know I got somethin' to say! LOL!

So wanna see something I made?  I did this layout a little bit ago for Core using our Core Cuts line and it makes me all sortys of happy. We love going to the St Patty's day parade around here and I jsut wanted to play with some colors. FUN and BRIGHT colors like the Core cuts collection pack has. And, of course, Owen brightens my day, too. ;)

So I am all sorts of happy today. Feeling like I found a piece of me that might have been missing and it is my creative outlet. I need to scrap more. I need to give myself time to be creative and share it like I used to.

It makes me a better person...captures memories for my family and, most importantly, it may help get some of these unused papers out of my studio!

That's a bit of our Core Couture sparkly goodness and the shamrock shapes are Lifestyle Crafts dies.

Thanks so much for the push, Mel! I will be back next week I promise!
We are hopping with May Arts and Stampendous so it's gonna be fun and I have TWO projects for next week. Holla!

Stampendous Saturday!

Happy Saturday!  Today I used the Mumpkin stamp and some Stampendous Glitter along with some Core'dinations Cardstock in Orange and White (Core Essentials) and Black Magic. And I used some of my Glitter Silk Scraps from earlier this week for some photo corners. Don't be afraid to stamp on that textured cardstock!!!!!

I cut parts of the stamp set, used some FAB Stampendous Glitter as an extra accent and layered them with 3D foam adhesive.  He is so cute!!!

I embossed the little bat from LYB (their halloween line last year was my FAVE!) and added some May Arts Ribbon, too.

Only two more Continental Kits left!

The Paper Passion. Be there or be square.

HURRY AND GET YOURS NOW or you will be VERY, very sad.
Trust me. I have five layouts and two cards so far.....and I got more to go! Continental Breakfast :)
I love the pops of red in this kit....the fun embellies like the arrows...you have to get yours because there aren't many left. Well, TWO to be exact..that's it.
I love love love love love love these brand, new Heidi Swapp papers that I used on this layout.
Laci mixes patterned papers and embellishments so beautifully. Anyone can put an entire line of the same company
together in one kit but mix product like this takes skill, baby!  So I kind of set these up a two layouts that would go next to each other since the papers go so well together. It isn't really a two page  layout....but it's more two pages that will look together :)
So for these super fun and cute envelopes...get out that Cuttlebug (any embossing machine will do) and emboss them. I love to do this, well, I emboss anything! Cardstock...pp...glycine bags...fabric...the kids...LOL! And then I took the white Maya Road from the kit and then ran it over to really make the circles pop.
And I am not sure if these Smash Book journaling cards could be any funner! (Yes, I said that, LOL!)
And who doesn't love Studio Calic rubons?!?!?!?!?!?
{button not from kit}
And another favorite thing of mine to do is to put stickers on wax paper and then run them through my Cuttlebug, too!  I did that here with the Studio Calico stickers and then sanded them a bit.

Gettin' Picky!

Brian's Uncle sent us some of their photos from our Phillies weekend and I instantly fell in love with this photo of owen and I at the fountain in Philly. It's the fountain with the LOVE piece of art work is that is famous around the world.

Owen would not put this Philly Phanatic down all weekend. He went everywhere with us, it was so cute. He even tucked him in his own part of the bed. It just melted my heart because I always wanted to be the Philly Phanatic when I was growing up. It's on my Bucket List ;)

So the challenge over at the Get Picky Challenge Blog was to use a this awesome quote from Diane Ackerman. As soon as I read it, I knew exactly what I wanted to do and that I was going to use this photo.

I was drawn to this quote because Brian and I have chosen to try and travel as much as we can with the boys. Less money spent on the house, redoing the floors...stuff like that...and want to take this time and take the boys to as many places we can as they are getting older now and learning to appreciate it. I know growing up, I can't remember projects my parents did or the cares we drove. I remember trips to the lake, to Germany, to Florida....and that is what we want for our boys, too.

Here is my take. I used Core'dinations Black Magic and Echo Park goodies. I also used the Cracked Glass Technique over at the Papertrey Ink blog this week on the chipboard hand.

Here is the scoring detail on the black magic Core! I LOVE this CARDSTOCK!

So I printed the quote right on the Echo Park journaling card. And hid it under the photo. I couldn't fit the credits on the front so that is on the back.

Here is a detail of the journaling card behind the photo and the cracked glass detail on the chipboard. I also use the leaf dies from Papertrey Ink under the vintage button in the upper right hand corner.
