Some Weekend Cards

Happy Weekend!

What a great week. We had some gorgeous days and today turned out to be one, too. We got hammered with rain the past few days so Owen's baseball game got cancelled anyway because there was so much water but at least we got to hang outside for a bit.

Owen and Henry got bug catchers for Easter and, well, let's just say that we are going to have a fun filled summer of creapy crawlies :)

I have a few Imaginisce cards to share with you. First up is a card for their Paper Piecing challenge this month. I LOVE to paper piece and I got this pattern from Scrapbooks, etc. They have awesome patterns.

Oh and check out these cute stamps from Gel-a-tins! How fun are these little guys...I thought they would be great for gettin' all up in my watermelon ;) AND, I have this obsession with the word "yum". It might be one of my favorite words in the English language, LOL!

I used some Chocolate Box Core'dinations for the seeds. So perfect with that pink coming through! And I used my scalloped Spellbinder's Die for the "bite". YUM!!!

This Live Loud Line was one of my FAVORITES! I love the colors...gray..orange...green and of course everyone loves a good boy line ;)

April Showers

April Showers Bring may Flowers....right??? So I will be thankful for the rain we are getting today. LOL! I can't complain, the breeze we had flowing through the house last night was amazing! And 80 degrees :):):) ... if only for a short moment ;) ;) ;)

So how is your week looking? time moves so quickly. I have some goooood news! I had a few cards picked up for the recent Cricut Magazine calls! Wahoo! I am so glad that I am using it more and more and it is such a great tool to have in your arsenal of scrappy supplies.

You know what else every scrapper should have???? AN I-ROCK! Back in the beginning of the month, I won an i-rock over at the Imaginisce blog!!! Not sure if you have even been over there (I am sure you have) but they are beyond generous with their give-a-ways so check it out. In celebration of my winnings, I wanted to post a fun little project I made with some Imaginisce goodies.

It is a fun little gift card holder and perfect for Spring. I love these crayon boxes. They are so great for all your paper crafting needs.

Some stamping on Core'dinations...

More Stamping... and I cut the layers for the flower & the butterfly with some Spellbinders dies and then embossed it.

And can you see the rubons on the clothespin?

Canvas Corp Banner Contest

Have you found Canvas Corp yet??? I found their products at Archivers last year at Scrapfest while I was there with Core'dinations and haven't looked back. I just LOVE them!!! Check out there Facebook fan page here, too. There is some great inspiration over there. AND they have such cool stuff for your home, too {sigh}.

So for my banner, I used the Canvas Circles and the Large Square Banner and Heart in burlap. I also used the new Crate Paper Toy Box collection from the Nook's add ons for March.

I kind of like how it isn't 100% symmetrical yet it still seems balanced. And the wide ribbon is from May Arts.

Here are some close ups....it is so hard to get a good close up photo of the bigger banners....

I did some misting on here with some Glimmer Mists and a scalloped circle that I cut with my Spellbinders (I also used them for the scalloped shape in behind the canvas).

Haha, I love how the dartboard fits perfectly! {sigh} I just love these canvas circles...SO versatile!

I also did a video entry. It has been rainy and yucky here for the last week so I thought this might help get some close up details. PLUS, the above photos are on my baker's rack, LOL! I wanted shots of the banner on his actual shelf with his other toys ;)

Happy Wednesday!

Good Morning!

So how is everyone today? All I have to say is holy heartburn, LOL! We had some serious garlic last night and apparently it is still around. Why do I love it so much???

Well, I am going strong on getting caught up on my blogging ;) I did some cardmaking this weekend. I found on this card and a few other projects, when I kept tying the twine in a bow it felt a little lost. So I started to double it up and do kind of like a double bow (not sure if that is a technical term or not ;) So I thought I would take some photos of it. The patterned papers are from our sponsors over at Passionately Artistic, then I used my favorite Cuttlebug folder, and a SRM Sticker. I order mine from the FTLOA store here.

First, cut your twin twice as long as you normally would for your bow. And fold in half.

Now tie a bow...you will see it has an extra loop.

Just trim that third loop and you have a nice even bow. I do it this way because the ends are nice and lined it up for me. You can obviously double up the twin and not have it attached but it always moves around for me if it's not.

Voila!

Here is the finished Card....I used my Spellbinder's dies in the Cuttlebug as well.

Pearls are from Want2Scrap! love these little guys. they are so delicate!

Have a creative day!

Contest! Contest!

Have you seen the MEGA HUGE contest going on over at Two Peas??? Webster's Pages is sponsoring a ginormous prize package and you don't want to miss it! I know I have said this a million times before but Webster's is so so so generous!

AND don't forget that every week there is a give-a-way going on at Webster's Pages blog. Brandin has been documenting her journey into the world of scrapbooking versus designing and it has been amazing. She really has a way with words and her inspiration is endless.

So today I wanted to share with you some layouts I haven't shared. It is funny...layouts I don't share are like extra money I find laying around. I just HAVE to spend that money, LOL...well with layouts I just HAVE to share them.

Note: Henry was totally safe during this photo shoot ;)

Double bow...

I used my Spellbinders for the scalloped pieces...

Our FAVORITE summer past time.....

It was SO much fun and the amount of support ya'll gave for Webster's is beyond amaZing! We will be announcing winners tonight at the Chat. Don't forget to stop by at 6 PST/EST in the forum where we always meet for the winners. And I will post it on my blog, too.

Here are some cards I wanted to share with you that I created using Webster's New Hollywood Vogue Line. The colors in this line are STUNNING! I was inspired by the Unity Stamp WCMD challenges. The first one is a Shaker Card...can you believe that I made one of these? First one! AND I used the Webster's Vellum for it.

This one was for a handmade flower card so I layered and layered some Spellbinder's dies...

And here is another card. I printed the Happy Birthday wishes on the computer, used some Tattered Angels glimmer mists on the chippy, embossed the houndstooth to match the butterfly and used some Dimensionals.

Be Inspired #95

Today is the day for the Cuttlebug Be Inspired Challenge #95. Today's Challenge was to create something heartfelt. I chose to do a sympathy card. A friend of Brian's passed away the other week. He was 37 and had a massive heart attack. They haven't seen each other in awhile. It is such an eye opener to make sure you take care of yourself. I guess he had signs of a minor attack earlier in the week but didn't have health insurance so he didn't go to the hospital. Very sad and now two small girls are without a dad. So, please please take care of yourself. You can't put a price on life, that is for sure.

Anywho, I don't want to be debbie downer today! It is a gorgeous day so let's enjoy it :)

Here is the card I created for the Cuttlebug Challenge using the Little Black Dress August kit. It is lush with reds and pinks and FAB vintage embellies! The green houndstooth is tissue paper!!!! ACK it is so cool! :) I used the Houndstooth and Argyle Folders on here.

Not sure if you can tell but I ran the tissue paper through my Cuttlebug, too. The Sentiment is myStampBOX.

And here is another card I made with the LBD August kit. I used a CPS card sketch for this one.

Again, the sentiment is myStampBOX. These circle sets fit my circle punch PERFECTLY! I did some Cuttlebug goodness on here, too :)

It's Manic Monday for sure! :)

Work Work Work. Just trying to get it all done before Wednesday comes and we leave for vacay. I love how the scrubster springs it on me that the van needs to be serviced before we go. Ah, okay..let me squeeze that in just like i am squeezing in grading finals, group projects and seeing all my clients in the next two days. ARGH! The funny thing is, I would have waited til the last minute anyway....shhhh! ;)

Just wanted to share a layout I did awhile back with the Serendipity May kit. I am feeling sentiment since the day is here the forum closes. I know change is good and having somewhere else to hang my hat does help but I do miss it already. Please check out the store for 70% off!!! There is some BG and Pink Paislee in there yet..not much but some ;)

I random embossed on this layout with my Quickutz and the polka dot folder. My good friend Susan Stringfellow does this on her lo's and i just love it! She is so inspiring to me and was a long time member of the DT over at Serendipity so this is cheers to her ;) Pls check out her blog!

I used my scraps, punched the with my Stampin' Up border punch and layered them....

I also used my Cuttlebug and Spellbinder's dies with some Core'dinations Cardstock.

Okay...time to run and get ready for work and Vacation!!! Only a few more days!!!
