Happy New Year!

HAPPY NEW YEAR! BRING ON 2011!!!

I just wanted to post a quick update with some 2011 goodies. I made my 5 for 5 journal this week so I am ready for my 5 goals in 5 months starting January. I didn't do this the last half of last year and it's funny because I feel like I don't have any direction.

I always get excited for a new year. New days, new dreams, new adventures, new goals and good bye to yesterday. I never was very sentimental and I know people always think I am crazy for that(don't get me wrong I am not cold and callous, LOL, I just try and keep yesterday there). I guess I just like to move forward instead of living in the past. I think it started when I stopped questioning myself. I made a pact that I would never allow myself to ever "what if" a decision that I made again. I kept dwelling on decisions that I made, thinking I might be somewhere else if I had made a better decision. But then the more I thought about it, what made it a wrong decision? Nothing. It was the right one at the time and anyone can look back and tell themselves it was wrong. Maybe there was a better decision to be made but it was mine, I made it and I AM happy where I am. But that was years ago and since then I made a conscience to choice to look to the future. I do that by setting goals for myself. Every year I give myself 5 goals to do in 5 months. Then, I do it again. Since there are 12 months in a year, I give myself a break for a few months in between ;) Goals don't have to be like taking over the world. They need to be specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and time specific (SMART-->that's the marketer in me, haha).

I am a firm believer in setting goals. AND I am a firmer believer in writing them down. You must, must, must write them down so you can hold yourself accountable. The funny thing is, I rarely go back and look at them. I just know that I put them on paper and I better stick to it. If we don't hold ourselves accountable, then we rarely have success.

SO! Here is my journal for my 5 for 5 for 2011. {Seriously, want can't you do with a peacock feather!}. Some come and join me on my 5 for 5! It's so much fun and I am telling you...IT WORKS!

Lot's of Webster's Pages Hollywood Vogue on here :) I used Helmar Adhesives for the fabric trim on the Hambly acetate and it worked beautifully!

Other supplies: Core;dinations Black Magic on the card and Bind it All on Journal.

Thanksgiving week begins....

Good Morning!

I hope everyone had a great weekend. Brain and I had a blast in NY! I can't wait to get my photos loaded and ready to show this week. I love love the city so much. Until then, I have a layout I wanted to share with you that I created last week with lots of Webster's Hollywood Vogue line. I was inspired by the Color Combo Galore Challenge and the Candy Shoppe Girls challenge to use animals/animal prints. I found this fun blog by accident while I was just surfing blog land and I have to laugh, my kids LOVE the music they have over there. Owen and Henry love to dance so now they keep asking me to go back to that site and let it play, LOL! OH and make sure you make it to the Webster's chat tonight. HUGE announcement...YES..another one!!!

Oh and don't forget to check out the Webster's contest at Two Peas...150 bucks worth of product! I am sure you saw the stamps by now but just in case you didn't....click here to check them out ..they are gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!!

Love these guys! I used my Cuttlebug and the leopard print folder and added some of the silver trim. this stuff is the COOLEST!

I sprayed the embellishment with glimmer mist and then sealed it spray glaze b/c i wanted it to be purple :) I just love purple so I went nutso with the mist and splattered it. Felt very freeing and artsy!

It's a New Week

And man oh man is it GORGEOUS here! The sun has been out all weekend and just amazing. The kiddos and I went on a hayride on Friday and then they spent the rest of the weekend with my parents. I can't believe how much owen looooves the outdoors. He is just like my dad in that regard. Last time he was with them he came home with a turkey call (the ones for your mouth!) and last night he shared with me how to make a buck call or was it grunting? I have no idea but he watches the hunting channel in the morning while he gets dressed! So funny.

(one quick note..make sure you check out Core'dinations Facebook page we are doing a MONSTER give-a-way!)

AND I am editing to post my winner from the Kreaxions/Just Imagine blog hop....my winner is................... LORI! Make sure you email me your addy! Blogger Lori said...

Working through the week...

Well this week is back to school and I am teaching 4 night classes so life is crazy. So far so good ;) I knew I would like teaching but never imagined how much I would actually enjoy it. Going to a job you love is one of the greatest things in the world.

You know what else is great? Hollywood Vogue! Yep, I whipped out the Webster's this weekend and it was FUN! I got a lot done for WCMD and I wanted to share this card I created based on the Cricut Circle Blog weekly challenge.

I used my French Manor cartridge to create the screen. I had to cut it twice to the screen image and the border. I used some Core'dinations on here, as well, ran it through my Cuttlebug and then sanded it down a bit. Stamp is from Unity and I embossed that, too. Oh and how could i forget! I put the Webster's vellum behind the screen...that is how this card started. I knew the vellum was the perfect touch.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend!
