All i have to say is WOW! thanks so much for everyone who came to Scrap Pink. I mean 20 bucks just to scrap and hang out with some of the coolest scrappy chics i know, ahem-me!, LOL, is worth it!

We did good kids!

{my dates here might be off a bit but you get the idea}

Brian's best friends are brothers and there mother was diagnosed with breast cancer 3.5 years ago and had a double masectomy. It spread to her lymph nodes and i remember beth, their sister, telling me about the nights she spent with her mother in the bathroom thinking that the treatments alone would kill her. But almost 4 years later she is still in remission.

Her sister was diagnosed with breast cancer 2 years ago.

Just last year their cousin who is 35? maybe? was diagnosed too.

When i was in high school my mom had 2 small tumours taken out of her breasts. Not cancer. yeah. i have dense breasts too. keep checkin'!

but it doesn't stop at breast cancer.

Brian's dad had his second round battle with esophogeal cancer and came out swinging but that was after he had 88 staples along his neck and chest and they had to dig out a tumour against his jugular. He had a 50/50 chance of making it that day. He was diagnosed with esophogeal cancer 4 days after his brother, brian's uncle, died of prostate/bone cancer.

My best friend died when i was 20 years old from leukemia. she was 19. found out she had leukemia because she had a cold she couldn't get rid of. She was diagnosed when she was 17.

You may think 20 bucks is too much. You may think it's not enough. but the important thing is that cancer makes you think, whatever the cost.

this isn't a pitty party, you know me...keep it fun and light but today it was more than that for me. Today was a day to be thankful for my life and everyone i love that i have near me.

Okay! time for a snack.
