You're the BALM!

So I made these a few months ago for Valentine's Day but a good friend of mind ordered some just for plan old "Thank You" gifts for some friends. I probably sound like a broken record but Core Tags are the easiest for this kind of quick gift.

Here is another, simpler version if you don't want to die cut the letters. I LOVE running my smooth Core Tags through the printer. Is super easy!  I print on a scrap piece of paper, then adhere the tag with some washi tape so I can remove them without tearing. Add some May Arts Ribbon and you are done. 

GREEN Mason Jar Fun!

Colored Mason Jars are the bomb. These green ones are so festive for this time of year with St. Paddy's day right around the corner! These large ones are perfect for a Lemongrass Spa body spritz, sugar scrub sample and lotion!  THE easiest gift ever AND are super easy to make to order. 

A Core Tag and button, some May Arts ribbon and you are good to go!  Of course, personalizing it is key. 

Sorry for the different background but I wanted a good shot of the contents and was playing with backgrounds.  I save raffia from gift baskets that our family gets so I always have plenty on hand.

Remember this stamp?  Yep...using it again. It is so versatile. 

Our new smooth tags are awesome to stamp on. I cannot get enough of any of our tags! So check them out and make sure you ask your retailer to get some for you.

For these tags I used a variety of May Arts ribbon and some Burlap String (loooooove this stuff!). Then the sentiment is from David Tutera Celebrate Step 3...the white and black sentiment stickers.  I love that the ribbon comes in sooooo many different colors that you can match inks perfectly.

You can never have too many gift tags on hand, can you?

I created a Bridal Shower card for today for my cousin. For the base I uses a David Tutera Celebrate Cardmaking system card base in smooth kraft. I looooove making square cards!  Thanks to Andrea who got me hooked on this ;)

I stamped right on the Tim Holtz Kraft-Core Shattered cardstock with the large rose bloom cling stamp from Stampendous and then heat embossed with some Stamendous glitter embossing powder. After cutting it out, I adhered it with some Tombow 3D power tabs and then finished off with a David Tutera Celebrate Cardmaking system pearl tag, sticker and string. 

I layered the cut out rose over some wired burlap string. I know it is hard to see but this string has white and pink stitching  on it...gorgeous! Remember you can click on the images to make them larger.

Stampendous Saturday!

Happy Saturday!  Today I used the Mumpkin stamp and some Stampendous Glitter along with some Core'dinations Cardstock in Orange and White (Core Essentials) and Black Magic. And I used some of my Glitter Silk Scraps from earlier this week for some photo corners. Don't be afraid to stamp on that textured cardstock!!!!!

I cut parts of the stamp set, used some FAB Stampendous Glitter as an extra accent and layered them with 3D foam adhesive.  He is so cute!!!

I embossed the little bat from LYB (their halloween line last year was my FAVE!) and added some May Arts Ribbon, too.

Today I have a project for you using May Arts Woven Burlap and fuzzy Pom Pom trim. I just wanted to create something fun and bright and had this in  my mind for some time. 

I also used my Xyron Sticker maker, Core'dinations Cardstock, Sweet Stamp Shop Stamps & Buttons, and Imaginisce i-Rock. 

I love altering frames and things like that but making canvases isn't something I normally do but when I saw this May Arts Burlap in all these gorgeous colors...I just new I had to make some kind of rainbow. It really malleable (can you use that word for ribbon? LOL!). I love that it has structure and can do pretty much what you want it to so that is why it curves, like a rainbow, so nicely.

Masking with Ribbon

Good Morning!

Happy Wednesday!  I am here today with a post from over at May Arts.

Masking with Ribbon.

It is quite a simple technique but I used a large sponge that you can get at any craft store and inks. This way, the ribbon doesn't get saturated like it does with mists. And, sometimes I find masking with mists isn't as exact as with a sponge...you have more control if  that makes any sense.

I used loads of Core'dinations on here. Tim Holtz Kraft Core and Tim Holtz Adirondack colors. 

And I used May Arts Burlap string and May Arts Webbed Weaved Ribbon. It's much sturdier than lace.

This is one of my favorite photos. This is Max on the couch with me while I work from home. He keeps me company and just looks out the window. So sweet.

Distressed Core Tag How-To

Good Morning!
Thought today would be late start for us but alas, it's not.
We got a dusting last night. Where is my real snow? 
I have been watching the weather around the world and it is crazy! Those poor people in Croatia, my heart breaks for them. So I will retract my statement about wanting lots and lots of snow.


Today I have a tag up on the May Arts Blog using  Core'dinations Core Tag. (LOVE these tags so much!) Each one comes with metal grommet.

First crinkle the card like crazy and sand it. Don't forget your Sand It Gadget!!!

Spray spray spray!

Add layers of color...

Take a needle and thread the May Arts burlap string. Then thread that through the larger ribbon, crushed satin Ribbon by May Arts.

It is like a loop in a ribbon if that  makes any sense!

Yummmmmmmm!

How much do you love cupcakes?  I never considered myself having a sweet tooth until now.

For these cards I used some May Arts Suede String (LOVE this stuff) especially in gray of course!

The patterned paper is Teresa Collins On The Edge and the cardstock is Core'dinations. Stamps are Lawn Fawn and adhesives are Helmar. They have some of the cutest stamps!!

I used some Glitter Silk Core'dinations and made my own little banner with some May Arts Plaid  Ribbon in gray and topped it off with some more Suede String. It's funny...now I keep TOOTHPICKS, of all things!, on my scrappy desk. They are my new go to supply for making my own little banners. Don't be afraid to make them out of ribbon! The theme of the hop is Holiday Wishes so I have some cards I created just for Christmas using the Fall-o-Ween stamp set (YES, I used a Halloween themed set for these!!!) I love getting creative and using my supplies in as many ways as I can (i.e. getting my money's worth ;)

I used this set for Holiday Cards...You gotta love that kind of versatility.

Don't be afraid to use big ribbon on your cards. This silky ribbon is from May Arts and it is 1.5". Patterned paper is Echo Park and Cardstock is Core.

The cute little wings in the Fall-o-Ween set are so fun. I used them here for the corners. 

And then I used a PTI die to create the window. 

The bow is attached to the outside of the window so you can open the card. I just tacked it on with some Glue Arts adhesive squares.
