the last week of october...

can you believe it? this is one of my fave months of the year and i feel like i have missed it ;(

things have been so crazy but i am discharging a few clients this week so things will slow down for me a bit which is good. i know i have been a bad blogger when it comes to visiting and i promise to change that this week!

Here are a few lo's i did for some crops the other weekend at Serendipity Scrapbooks and A Million Memories...

This is my very good friend, Beth...her brother and brian are best friends and we hit it off and are mad friends. we love texting each other with fun inside jokes...she has a sick sense of humour like me ;) and just moved to NC which makes me sad but when you are young and free you gotta do that kinda fun stuff. i know i am glad that i got to do all of that...so this lo is about hoping we stay friends...

I used Chocolate Box from Core'dinations {this is my fave line of theirs for sure} So when you and the brown, the color core comes through and how fun is pink and brown????


and this layout is when owen and brian went flying with our friends...owen actually held the controls! i sanded the swirls from the plane through the Chocolate Box Core'dinations. seriously...if you have gotten some Core'dinations Color Cardstock yet, you better! click here to check out my fave place to buy it ;) okay...okay...Serendipity Scrapbooks!

It's {almost} FRIDAY!

and i am stoked. my girls are coming in from Philly and jersey this weekend. it is bittersweet though. it is for a ride for a our best friend who lost her sister 3 years ago to a massive heart attack. she was 8 mos pregnant at the time and they lost the baby, too. so the last saturday in september we do a ride for her and we bar hop and raise money for the American Heart Association and the Harley's are a blazin'! if your the praying kind, this would be the time to say a prayer for her 15 year old son, tyler, and her husband {tyler's step dad} and the rest of the family. every day is still a rough one for them. she was only 35.

okay, debbie downer is done now...on a happier note! I participated in the Collage Press challenge again this month. I just flippin' love their papers. I did the altered challenge last month here. Collage Press

Ya'll know how i love to alter so when i saw this challenge over at Collage Press, i jumped on it. i have been dying to use these journal spots in a creative way so this is what i came up with. plus, my FAVE quote! i don't know who said it but i am all about it. i want to carry this with me when all the parents are on their cell phones at football practice instead of watching their kids play, or when ppl are texting instead of driving. i get overwhelmed with frustration when i see the disconnect in our lives these days.

so this is what came out of that....

{the shadows this thing cast are amazing, LOL! every photo i took has a bit of shadow on it from the overhang of the frame.} each journaling spot has some stitching on it, even going off the page.

I am so pumped, i got a super fun email from Juliana that i won her RAK on her blog. It is loaded with Magistical Memories goodies! AND the polaroid frames i have been eyeing up :) thanks juliana!

Here is another NSD inspired project. It came from a challenge at CMK to use journal spots and a Papertrunk challenge to use kitchen items. So after looking through photos and "stuff", i realized these purple rubber bands that come on asparagus would be perfect to recycle on a layout AND they are purple and that is owen's school colors -- i have limited purple stuff with two boys.  i love the graph pp's on the backside of the Collage Press Papers, along with a staple of mine, Luxe Rubons.
